Interim Update 01092009 (B355 Beta)
Enhancements:
- Added short time display to main screen log messages.
- Added context menu to right-click of Taskbar item for ASA.
- Added “Reset Screen Location” context menu item (activated with right-click from ASA taskbar or system tray item) which will reset screen location in case it is currently presented off-screen for any reason.
- Increased performance and reduced processing requirement of image generation used with map and XGauge.
- Implemented baro pressure smoothing for FSX DWC/Global mode.
Fixes:
- Fixed problem with OOM in certain situations
- Reduced problem with Direct Wind Control in FSX causing occasional excessive aircraft ‘swaying’ and ‘s-turning’ and improperly depicted winds with some aircraft. Please see NOTES section for more information. More work is in progress.
- Fixed problem with ASA Upgrade from ASX version not properly recognizing ASX installation if an early build was installed which did not include certain updated files.
- Fixed problem with FS9 mode where oceanic/sparse areas would result in improper weather depiction include winds, clouds and pressure.
- Fixed problem with station database not correctly repairing if corrupt.
- Fixed problem with incorrect altitude layers in FS9 for winds.
- Fixed problem with FS9/GEPro texture installation causing .DLL error during GEPro load.
- Fixed problem with true heading readout in Navlog when crossing 0 degrees longitude between waypoints.
- Fixed problem with incorrect airplane icon heading display due to true vs. magnetic.
- Fixed problem with excessive weight towards “Universal” snapshots even when many non-universal appropriate sets exist.
- Fixed problem with FS9 AI refresh causing improper time set and potential FS crash.
- Fixed problem where FSX would not reconnect if it was restarted.
- Fixed problem with Variable surface winds being incorrectly calculated.
- Fixed problem where ASA window might be set off-screen and not visible to user (also see enhancement for new Reset Screen Location context menu item).
- Fixed problem where non-standard characters could case failure of Snapshot items to properly save.
- Fixed problem with stutters approximately every 10 to 20 seconds due to radar/map imagery generation (see related performance enhancement)
- Fixed problem with FSX not properly connecting if started after ASA in some situations.
- Fixed problem where a dual-boot environment might cause new machine code generated, resulting in multiple activations.
- Fixed problem with crash of ASA on startup due to number format. Could also cause improper weather depiction and reports.
- Fixed problem with crash of ASA on startup due to ASv6 backwards compatibility process error.
- Fixed problem with potential FSUIPC.dll and FS9 crash.
- Fixed problem with QNH/Pressure jumps using FSX DWC mode (see related enhancement).
- Fixed problem with some flightplans not importing due to number format.
- Fixed problem with ASA not updating weather in some situations
- Fixed problem with invalid interpolated weather in some situations.
- Fixed problem with vertical visibility (VV) being improperly decoded.
- Addressed problem with automatic AI refreshes causing issues with some 3rd party aircraft initialization routines (such as PMDG MD11). Automatic refresh is now disabled, and available only via manual button press in report screen.
- Fixed problem with cloud pops in FS9 despite suppression.
- Fixed problem with FSUIPC communications and improper wx depiction/disconnection in some situations.
- Changed maximum suppression range to 200nm, as higher values could cause wx depiction problems.
- Fixed problem where DWC would not properly activate in FS9 mode.
- Fixed problem where number of waypoints indicated in briefing screen for your flight plan would increment by one on every “process” (i.e. changed altitude) if an alternate was specified.
