Above is an example of our cloud editor. Every time the 'Randomize' button is pressed a new cloud texture will be generated dynamically according to your preferences and shown in the preview window. You have a greater chance of winning the lottery than seeing the same cloud twice - it is nearly impossible.

ENVIRONMENT SIMULATOR
The technology in FEX allows individual adjustment of all texture parameters on the fly. This allows us to integrate fully with our forthcoming Environment Simulator providing weather depiction and other environmental factors to a degree never before seen in a flight simulator.
Once you are using Flight Environment X it will quickly become apparent to you the possibilities we have of influencing the depiction of the environment within FSX. Such as harder cloud edges, darker clouds and high waves for stormy conditions etc.
The Environment Simulator is a massive future project. We will deliver a free upgrade to all customers of FEX to include a light version of the Environment Simulator, which will provide weather depiction comparable to other weather applications. A later full commercial product will then be released taking the concept much further and providing a suite of graphical products which will integrate fully into FEX.

Kann der auch wie ActiveSky aktuelles Wetter von einem Ort per Internet runterladen und reproduzieren? Wenn nicht, könnt man ja AktiveSky in Verbindung mit FEX nutzen und X Graphics aussen vorlassen?

Following user requests we have added Master Themes. This will be a two stage implementation, right now we have added a button to the menu on the left as well as a simple designer and selector. Coming soon will be the ability to publish and download Master Themes.
Using Master Themes
Master Themes is a means of storing your favorite combination of themes together as one selection, rather than always individually selecting themes of each type. The selector for Master Themes is a little different to the other themes, you will see a new button called "Select Themes". This allows you to browse through the available Master Themes without changing all your choices, if you want to load a Master Theme, simply click the "Select Themes" button to make all the choices active. The designer for Master Themes allows you to select one theme of each type, record a name and description and also capture screenshots. At the moment you can not publish a Master Theme however this will change in a later update.
This patch addresses the following issues:
1. New Uninstaller for FEX, now will preserve back-up directory during uninstall process.
2. Error that could cause installer to stop working.
3. Selecting to only install clouds and skies will now correctly install without causing an error.
4. Added two new Master Themes as well as Selector and Designer for Master Themes.

Es handelt sich hier um Austauschtexturen. Texturen haben keinen Einfluss auf die Framerate

Das ist in diesem Fall nicht ganz richtig. FSX nutzt für Wolken Texturen mit einer Auflösung von 256x256. FEX verwendet Texturen mit Auflösungen bis zu 1024x1024. Damit geht ein höherer Verarbeitungsaufwand im Grafikchip einher. Auf Systemen, wo die Grafikkarte der Flaschenhals ist, kann daher ein Performanceverlust auftreten.

1. Error reporting now can be submitted directly to our server (optional), to further improve any response to problems.
2. Authentication details can now be recalled by submitting the flight1 order number, this will email the authentication details to the email address your registered with.
3. Improved error handling during theme installation, should no longer force CTRL-ALT-DEL to close FEX.
4. Performance enhancements during texture generation.

2. Improvements in the Download of themes from our server. Much improved layout with screenshot preview before download and also improved functionality.
The update is nearing completion for the above however further work is needed on what I call the 'big update' which will include:
1. Each Designer mode will be improved individually, with some additional functions to bring it in line with the forthcoming weather engine and 'wizards' making it easier to create new themes.
2. The weather engine itself :-)
3. Whole new graphical content
Just to say both Peter, Robert and myself are all working non-stop to get these updates ready, all of the above is well underway in terms of development and the likelyhood is we will release the 'big update' in parts as they are completed rather than as a service pack, although again that may be subject to change.
